I can't help thinking that many former OS/2 users left to go down the
Linux path in an effort to run anything but Microsoft and are now feeling
slightly nostalagic and would like to use OS/2 again. From my POV, Linux
is simply a host for a load of Open Source Software which in theory ought
to run on OS/2 as we have most of the build tools available. With this in
mind I thought I might mention the UnixOS/2 project which aims to put
together the equivalent of a a Linux distro - eg Slackware but without any
kernel elements, so that you have a good chance of doing everything on
OS/2 which you can do on Linux. Anyone who is interested in using a
Unix-like environment on OS/2 is welcome to join the os2-unix mailing list
which is the main discussion forum for UnixOS/2. You can do so by using
