Whether he is lying or not, I don't believe it would be possible for 
Microsoft to take Windows off the market. All the PC manufacturers will 
have bought all the licences they need, and I doubt whether Microsoft 
could stop systems being pre-loaded, even if they wanted to, so threat of 
such an action, however attractive it is, is simply not feasible.
