I awoke this morning to find news reports all over the net discecting
the MS transcripts, especially Ballmer's. Waggener-Edstrom has still
not sent me the transcripts as they promised they would do as quickly as
possible. I wonder. Could it be possible that I am not on their "A
List"?

Nonetheless, the news I've read is exciting. Microsoft may be poised to
make the greatest contribution to the personal computing industry of all
time. You know I bash them occasionally, but this could be the real
thing. Gates has always talked about just wanting to be left alone to
create "great software." Now Ballmer is teasing us with that as a real
possibility.

Ballmer says that probably the only thing MS could do if the nine states
get their way is to take Windows off the market. Oh my lord. In one
fell swoop, MS could encourage innovation and excellence and security in
personal computing. Great software would begin to appear, thanks to
this act of unselfish generosity.

Oh, I know. Ballmer is lying because he wants to scare everyone with
the spectre of a Windowless environment. I say pshaw. Scare? I would
dance all night, and so would millions of others. The mindless sheep
who don't know and don't care would still be mindless sheep on whatever
new platform they find themselves, but they would be better off. There
are no alternatives to Windows which are not superior.
