Not to mention the fact that it's not uncommon for the same
'configuration' to actually have internals that are different. You
might have a 52X cdrom, but there's no telling who it's made by.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
