Microsoft is a lot nimbler and a lot smarter than anything that ever
came out of the Bell system. If there was a traditional "chink" then
AOLTW, Oracle, Sun Micro, RedHat, or IBM would know about it and take
advantage of it. I just don't see any vulnerability EXCEPT
overconfidence. If Goliath had seen David as a threat and shielded
himself better or attacked immdiately, the old boy would still be with
us. Microsoft may end up the same way. But I can't really think of a way
anyone can use that to their advantage.

"Instead of worrying about whether or not the government will stop
Microsoft from innovating in the future, the head honchos in Redmond
ought to spend some energy trying to figure out what force has
prevented them from innovating over the past decade."
