Mr. Urbaniak in his response felt that an outside source looking at the MS
source code would be its death knell. It is interesting that today's WSJ
does not mention the judge's ruling. I re-read his posting closely after
just glancing through it before. His comments amazed me. I am a
barrister, and I could not imagine the judge ruling any other way. It
would be like a auto accident where the defendant could not do a medical
examination of the plaintiff. (As an aside I should say that most of the
defense medical experts in auto accident cases would make a whore blush).
The argument of MS against release quoted in the newspaper made me think
"The lady doest protest too much." You should read them at some point,
because to my mind they are bizarre.
In Friday's WSJ, IBM was criticized for some of its accounting practices.
Today the WSJ wrote that it is meeting the criticism and releasing the
information.
With MS foray into the hand-held telephone market, now is when the
anti-trust findings and decree will be useful. If MS tries its usual
stunt, Nokia, etc. will have powerful weapons against the usual MS
"innovation".
