Or, it could be that Slate was a money-loser big time. Kinsley was
supposed to get all this wonderful, new technological stuff from MS to
provide ground-breaking 21st century on-line publishing services. But
it never panned out.
I also remember all those marvelous promises made when MSNBC was
formed. There were supposed to be all these new age, pushing back the
foreskin of tecnology, interactive web-news things happening. But,
instead, MSNBC is just another 24-hour news channel, with NBC doing all
the work and MS doing nothing. I think it's ratings show consistent
last-places.
I suspect a dissolution of the MS-NBC "partnership" is also looming.
Like everything Microsoft-related, the promise is never fulfilled.
