Group announces new standards for Linux

"THANKS TO TWO new standards announced Thursday, software applications
should soon be able to run across different versions of the open-source
Linux operating system, and Linux offerings will likely be made
available for a broader set of international markets.

The Free Standards Group is announcing Linux Standards Base (LSB) 1.1,
which will allow applications to interoperate across any version of
Linux that complies, and Li18nux 1.0, for better international support
in the operating system."
