Without benefits, too. But I don't have to drive anywhere after
class, I can work right on campus. It has a few perks, my supervisor
hangs out with a lot of influential people in this area and I have been
extended the opportunity to meet a lot of them. I'm actually spending
most of my time there now working on Web sites, which is quite ironic - I
couldn't get a job doing Web design without a better education and more
experience, so I went to college and took a student employee position -
and ended up doing Web design. (But I suspect most people who do design
for a living make a bit more money than I.) Oh well, I'm making enough to
eat and buy gas, and had enough saved from the "real" job I had to
purchase a semi-new car a few months ago. The state pays for my tuition
and sends money to pay for my books and supplies (or pay for most of it
anyway) so that isn't too bad, either.
About the only bad side of it is I have a lot less time to work on
The MSBC, which is why we haven't sent out a newsletter since June. I've
got one in development, trying to catch back up, but things are slow.
Managed to relaunch the main page of the site though, if you care (
www.msboycott.com ). We also got some new t-shirt designs done, if you'd
like to purchase a few and offset the costs of Web hosting and domain
registration.
