I read this article and couldn't help being struck by this comment:-

This shows how much Microsoft have perverted people's thinking... The fact 
that someone thinks this is because they are used to the inefficiences of 
using Microsoft software and the constant need to upgrade, only to be able 
to keep up with Microsoft's ever increasing bloat requirements. People 
think they need 'more and better computers' because they find that 
Microsoft IIE or Microsoft Exchange is not scalable and rather than 
examining the causes of any bottlenecks, ie Microsoft bloatware/bugware 
there is a perceived notion that a bigger and faster computer will solve 
their problems.

As a non-user of Microsoft software, I can get good service out of 
computers which Microsoft users would have thrown out years ago.
