I'd like to pursue this just a little bit more. I've heard that Enron
paid Andersen something like $27 million for *consulting* services as
well as the standard accounting/auditing services.
Didn't Microsoft and Andersen form some kind of joint venture partnership
to perform consulting services? I forgot the name of the venture, but I
think it begins with "A."
Does anyone know, did Enron employ this partnership for the consulting
services?
If so, there's a Microsoft connection.
There is little doubt that the Enron debacle was largely due to
accounting/auditing improprieties. But I can't help but wonder what
those "consulting" services provided by Andersen were. And was Microsoft
involved?
