The idea has some appeal, until the details are considered. How would
this item be priced? If the sole criterion is that it be "cheaper" than
standard Windows, then who would set the price? Would Microsoft be
compelled to support this version? They could certainly find all sorts of
ways of discriminating against customers who buy the unfavored version.
