MS is terrified of Linux.  IBM supports Linux (today, anyway).

Now, I've always suspected that Gerstner took a bribe from MS to kill
OS/2 (Remember the testimony "How much do we have to pay you to get you
to screw Netscape?") .  I betcha he gets threatened with revelation of
that treachery from the boys in Redmond soon.  Little leaks to the WSJ
and other publications of Lou's secret MSFT options holdings ...

I can't wait for the cowardly deeds to be publicized.  I can't wait for
the lawsuits against IBM for fraud and deceptive practives from OS/2
users, customers and partners like me, who were lied to by IBM.

Of course, the alternative would be for Gerstner ("Sir Gerstner") to
cave again.

We might see a breathtaking reversal of IBM's support for Linux as
well.  In either case, it will be ugly for IBM.  Good!
