Today's WSJ, left hand article titles "Negotiating All Night, Tenacious
Microsoft Won Many Loopholes---Judge Urged Antitrust Truce After The
Terror Attacks: Professor Steered Talks --- Exemptions 'at Every Turn'

I suspect this will be a lot like Janet Reno dealing with MS. When she
approved the prior MS consent decree, she assumed "Good Faith" which MS
has no concept of. I suspect the Bush AG needs the learning experience
with MS before it understands what Reno learned so painfully.

It is clear the Bush anti-trust chief is a putz. I suspect when he
realizes MS has made him a putz, he might become upset.

You have to remember also that today's WSJ's editorial board damned and
blasted Blumenthal of Connecticut, Miller of Iowa and the California AG
for their "presumption". The willingness of the WSJ's editors to allow
their reports to write a lead article inconsistent with its editorial
board's view is one of the reason I read the rag.
