If I had an AG I would contact him and say that if the 'Microsoft Tax' is 
not abolished, then the last three years has been a complete waste of 
time.

AFAIAA absolutely nothing is being proposed to force manufacturers such as 
Compaq, DELL, IBM etc to offer 'naked PCs'. You will still be forced to 
pay Microsoft for software that you don't want if you wish to buy a 
computer from a well known manufacturer. 

Without any steps being taken to abolish this tax you are effectively 
casting in stone Microsoft's right to continue operating as a monopoly.

What is the point in determining that someone holds an illegal monopoly if 
no steps are taken to alleviate the situation? In effect the DOJ is 
sanctioning, or even legitimising  this status. It is an absurd position.
