Clearly, this is a GREAT ERROR.

What also troubles me...I haven't read the complete text...is what relief
is brought to those not wanting Microsoft's OSes to begin with?

In other words, the only "relief" I've understood so far about this deal
is at the application level -- absolutely nothing that will offer consumer
choice at the operating system level.  So the real monopoly continues.  

Right?
