[Am-info] more Opera and MSN fun

Following on Microsoft's redesign of the MSN.com Web site, lockout of
other browsers such as Opera and backpedaling to open their site up
again, it looks like some parts of MSN are still closed. Opera sums
it up well on their site at

http://www.opera.com/pressreleases/20011101.html

They show that Microsoft's excuse of locking out browsers that don't
comply with the XHTML standard is false, because the MSN pages don't
validate as XHTML and they have a counter-example XHTML press release
(http://www.opera.com/pressreleases/xhtml/20011026.xml) which
validates perfectly with the W3C's validator service but is not
rendered properly by Internet Explorer for Windows. I verified this
myself with Internet Explorer 5 and also saw that Opera 5.12 and
Netscape 6.2 for Windows render it properly. Also, if Opera
masquerades as Internet Explorer, the MSN pages work fine.
