Those who subscribe to the "Pure technical" side of stock analysis might
take a look at MSFT charts for the past 12 months.
The stock is forming a classical "Head and Shoulders" shape towards the
downside.
It still sells at a p/e of about 52, two or three times above current
market norms.
Based on this, one might predict a price of about $25 or less in a few
months.
As an aside, MS promised, what a billion-dollar XP advertising
campaign? So far, I've only seen one 15-second TV spot on "Monday Night
Football" last night (Go Steelers!) and a few banner ads on the web.
So where's the billion? Could it be that MS pulled out, realizing that
XP is a dud, leaving their buddies Dell, Compaq, Gateway (you know, the
cow company), and IBM footing the bill for the advertising and holding
the bags for the big flop?
Tee-hee!
