What level? If you really want to get technical there are soooo many
newsgroups that pick on everything from advocacy to device drivers.

For other email lists and newsgroups you might consider subscribing
anyways then filter out the "waffle". My news and email clients
are quite good with their own scripting language, but it does take
some effort to set them up, and set them up effectively. Just another
thought.
Oh, one more thought...how 'bout getting on a meta search engine like
http://www.profusion.com or http://www.surfwax.com and do a
clever search like "microsoft and technology" or further narrow it to
something like "microsoft and technology and the Jolly Green Giant".
