Matthew,

Perhaps I am in error. I have read that Nader is not on the
ballot in most states. I will do some research, and if I am
wrong, I apologize.

In any event, I respect your opinion and the time you put into
thinking through your position.

I am neither a "Gore man" nor a "Nader man". If I was confident
that my vote could not make a difference in the Gove vs Bush
election, then I certainly would vote for Nader. But, as I have
said, late polls show the race much closer than I anticipated.

Conditions have changes in the last several weeks, and for this
reason I respectfully disagree with your original email.

I am distressed by the argument you make in your email is that a
vote for Nader will do no harm.

My difference with you is that, for many people, a vote for Nader
WILL harm Gore's chances.

Also, I do not believe you attempted to mislead in any way, and
my email does not attempt to mislead.

Finally, I want to compliment you for taking a active role.

All these words may affront some people on this list, but personally
I believe that any potential for applying the law to Microsoft
hinges on this election.

With respect,

Gene Gaines
