[A2k] More on Countries that have availed of the Berne Appendix?

I am not sure about the expiry dates indicated for some of the
countries regarding their notifications of application of the Berne
Appendix. The ten year term for Berne Appendix notifications is not a
"running" term counted from the date of notification or renewal; it is
ten years periods identical for all countries, running from the entry
into force of the Paris Act, i.e. October 10, 1974.  That means that
for a country like Singapore, which made the notification in 1998, it
expired in October 2004, when the Government decided not to renew the
notification.  See the exact rules in Article I(2)(a) and (b) of the
Appendix.

We know that WIPO does not make a list specifically indicating the
countries availing themselves of the Appendix, but I am told that the
"easiest" way of getting that information regarding the present
situation is, at the URL that I referred too previously, to click on
the PDF version of the list of parties to the Convention and then
establish the list by means of the footnotes that reflect the
situation as of the date indicated at the top of the list.

In other words Teresa, more checking to do!
