Registration for the Paris Accord, Round II meeting is now available
through the TACD-IP website. The meeting will take place on Friday,
October 23, and Saturday, October 24, 2009, and will run from
approximately 9 AM to 6 PM both days. The meeting will be held at the
Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art (INHA, http://www.inha.fr/ ) in
Paris, France. Updated information about the meeting will be routinely
posted to the http://www.tacd-ip.org/blog web site, and sent by email to
the meeting participants.
The Paris Accord is a summit of creative and consumer communities,
designed to foster greater communication between creators and consumers,
with the ultimate goal of establishing a set of common principles
regarding access to information and fair creative remuneration. In 2006,
the TransAtlantic Consumer Dialogue initiated discussions between
creative communities and the public, which led to the first draft of the
Paris Accord. TACD recently launched a second round of discussions, on
both sides of the Atlantic, to further develop the draft Accord. The
Accord covers several areas, including Medical Research and Development;
Music; Software; Books and Journalism; Scholarly Publishing; the Public
as a Creative Community; and Films, Video, and Art. You can find a copy
of the agenda for the October meeting here:
http://www.tacd-ip.org/blog/the-paris-accord/paris-accord-agenda/
The meeting is open to the public. However, in order to give us a better
sense of the number of people who will be attending, we have set up a
registration page at
http://www.tacd-ip.org/blog/the-paris-accord/paris-accord-registration/
. We ask that you take a moment to fill out the registration form so
that we can more accurately plan ahead. If you cannot attend, please let
me know so that we can be sure to keep you updated on developments
during the meeting.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about
scheduling, content, or any other aspect of the Accord meeting.
I hope to see you there!
Best,
Meredith Filak
