Jamie has suggested
a step by step approach which others have also made reference in the
affirmative to. Richard has more of a go for the whole enchilada strategy,
as it were, which I take as seeking to repeal DMCA and start anew.
Correct me if I have mischaracterized your strategy please Richard.
That is partly true and partly not. Our long-term goal must be to
repeal the DMCA circumvention restrictions, and other similar laws in
whatever country.
But that doesn't all partial steps are bad. We can campaign for
partial steps (as I've said here several times) provided we choose
them carefully so that they contribute to the long-term goal.
In this discussion I've proposed two ways to help blind people which I
think would help rather than hurt the long-term campaign.
