Dear friends and colleagues,
As many of you may have heard by now, I have decided to accept an offer of a
teaching position as a University Lecturer in the University of Maastricht's
Faculty of Law. Beginning August 18th, 2009, I will be teaching in the new
IP and Knowledge Management Masters programme, and working with the India
Institute. It is an exciting change and I hope to continue and deepen the
research that working at CIEL has enabled me to do. I will continue working
on a part-time basis with CIEL on IP issues, focusing particularly on
technology transfer and climate change and CIEL's continuing role within the
Climate Action Network. I will be collaborating closely with CIEL
colleagues, Steve Porter (Climate Change program), Baskut Tuncak, (IP and
Sustainable Development Fellow) and Marcos Orellana (Trade and Sustainable
Development Program, Human Rights and Environment Program).
For any further information on these CIEL programs please contact:
Climate Change - Steve Porter (sporter@ciel.org)
Trade and Sustainable Development - Marcos Orellana (morellana@ciel.org)
IP and Sustainable Development - Marcos Orellana (morellana@ciel.org), and
Baskut Tuncak (btuncak@gmail.com)
Human Rights and Climate Change - Marcos Orellana (morellana@ciel.org) and
Steve Porter (sporter@ciel.org)
Starting in September, Senior Attorney David Azoulay will join the Geneva
office. David's main focus of work will be nanotechnologies and other
emerging technologies, and he will be working in other areas. For any
further inquiries about CIEL's Geneva Office, please contact:
Johanna Borcic, Office Manager for Geneva (jborcic@ciel.org)
David Azoulay (dazoulay@ciel.org)
While I will be retaining my CIEL address for the near future for specific
CIEL work, my primary email will be my University of Maastricht account at:
dalindyebo.shabalala@maastrichtuniversity.nl. You should feel free to
contact me, but if you have questions, etc. regarding CIEL's IP work
generally, please feel free to contact Marcos, at morellana@ciel.org.
I want to thank you all for the privilege of collaborating with you during
my time at CIEL and I look forward to working further with you all in my new
capacity.
Regards,
Dalindyebo Shabalala
