Hello to everyone on the list, I just subscribed and will introduce
myself with a few words : I'm libre software activist based in Paris
(vice-president of April, main french NGO for promoting and defending
libre software), and co-founder of La Quadrature du Net, citizen
initiative aimed at informing about dangerous regulations of the network...
I'm in Brussels right now working on the Telecoms Package, and
encountered this document you might all find interesting.

- It's an *initative report*, which means it's not legally binding in
any way like a directive, but can nevertheless be a strong political signal=
.
- It comes from the Commitee on International Trade, and its rapporteur
is an italian conservative MEP named Susta
http://www.gianlucasusta.it/index.php?id=3D20,221,0,0,1,0
- It's a diamond of 100% pure lobby bullsh%=C2=A7$!! about
"piracy",TRIPS,terrorism,jobs loss,IPRED2,criminal organisations, and more.
- It can be a helpful political tool for french presidency to quickly
negociate the ACTA in the worst possible form.
- Deadline for tabling amendments on it has been postponed from today
friday aug. 29th to sept 8th which is a very good news.
So if anyone here has comments, questions, or amendments, we can do what
we can here to have them tabled in order to at least have a small form
of debate, and raise awareness about this treaty.
Talk to you soon.

ANNEX 1 - selected piece for your reading pleasure and entertainment :

each year and can often endanger consumers=E2=80=99 health, fund criminal a=
nd
terrorist organisations and cause serious damage to the environment."
etc.. etc..
