The EBLIDA Expert Group on Information Law (EGIL) last week wrote to five E=
uropean Commissioners, saying that we strongly disagree with Internal Marke=
t & Services Commissioner Charlie McCreevy's proposals to extend the term o=
f copyright protection in sound recordings (and performances in them) from =
the current 50 years to 95 years. We understand that Mr McCreevy intends to=
ask the Commission to approve a draft Directive before the summer break.

EBLIDA wrote to the following Commissioners

- Neelie Kroes (Commissioner for Competition) http://ec.europa.eu/commissio=
n_barroso/kroes/contact_en.html
- J=E1n Figel (Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Youth), em=
ail: Cab-FIGEL@ec.europa.eu
- Charlie McCreevy (Commissioner for Internal Market and Services), email: =
Charlie.Mc-Creevy@ec.europa.eu
- Viviane Reding (Commissioner for the Information Society and Media), emai=
l: viviane.reding@ec.europa.eu
- Meglena Kuneva (Commissioner for Health and Consumers, European Commissio=
n, B-1049 BRUSSELS)

The letters to Kroes, Figel and McCreevy are in one PDF file and those to R=
eding and Kuneva each comprise 2 PDF files for pages 1 and 2. These can be =
