The issue of IPRs in technical standards is increasingly seen to be content=
ious since they at times lead to anticompetitive situations affecting marke=
ts and international trade. While standards are adopted internationally and=
 nationally by different standard setting organisations, they are implement=
ed cross border. This has provoked a great deal of serious thought and syll=
ogism over anticompetitive effects created due to a variety of factors asso=
ciated with processes and framework of norms that govern the issues of IPRs=
 in standardisation. The SIP seminar aims to focus on such issues and to fi=
nd possible remedial solutions for addressing the international competition=
 dimension of IPR Issues in Standardization.=A0=A0=A0=A0
