on Combatting Counterfeiting and Piracy to be held in Dubai on February=0D
3-5, 2008.=0D
As of 2004, the World Customs Organization (WCO), Interpol and the World=0D
Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) along with business associations=
=0D
have hosted a Global Congress for government officials and business=0D
representatives to advance solutions to the problem of counterfeiting and=
=0D
piracy.=0D
It should be noted that the Congress lacks multi-stakeholder=0D
participation, particularly from civil society. The Congress seeks to=0D
advance a global consensus on priority actions that reflect a one-sided=0D
agenda on strengthening enforcement of intellectual property rights.=0D
