Dear All,=0D
The South Centre and United Nations Institute for Training and Research=0D
(UNITAR), are launching on 9 June 2008 its first joint distance learning=0D
course on the theme of =A1=B0Intellectual Property Policy & Development=A1=
=B1 in=0D
English.=0D
=0D
The course features key issues that are of development concerns in the=0D
area of intellectual property rights. International debates on=0D
intellectual property are now being increasingly focused on the need to=0D
integrate a =A1=B0development dimension=A1=B1 into policy making. However, =
the=0D
costs of the emerging IP regime are disproportionately borne by developing=
=0D
countries. How can developing countries ensure that the current IP system=
=0D
preserves their policy space to meet the national development goals?=0D
=0D
This instructor-led online course prepared and executed by leading experts=
=0D
and policymakers with a wealth of experience on IP and development issues.=
=0D
It aims to provide complete orientation to a diverse group from the South=
=0D
and the North in designing and implementing suitable IP frameworks and=0D
policies. The target audience consists of, but not limited to, government=
=0D
delegates, officials from ministries and government bodies in charge of IP=
=0D
related issues (e.g. health, agriculture, traditional knowledge, digital=0D
and internet environment, etc), parliamentary officials, academics,=0D
researchers and civil society representatives.=0D
=0D
Course fees:=0D

=0D

s,=0D
