Dear All,

The WIPO General Assembly 2007 started on September 24, 2007 and runs
until October 3, 2007. Among the agenda items of importance are:

- Approval of agreed proposals on a WIPO Development Agenda and
establishment of a new IP and Development Permanent Committee
- Renewal of the mandate of the Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources,
Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC) Committee

The South Centre, an Inter-Governmental Organization and Thinktank of the
South is actively engaged in this process, providing analysis and inputs
to developing country negotiators.

To get a quick insight of the "Priorities for the WIPO 2007 Assembly", as
it relates to the developing countries, watch Ms. Viviana Munoz Tellez,
Programme Officer (Innovation and Access to Knowledge), South Centre in
her commentary recorded on this issue at the South Centre Digital TV:
