The Saskatchewan organic farmers who had sued Monsanto and Bayer CropScienc=
e
for losses caused by drifting genetically modified canola (Hoffman v.
Monsanto) have lost their case at the Court of Appeal. So it remains the la=
w
in Canada that agrochemical companies that patent GMOs are entitled to all
of the rights of property owners, but have none of the typical ownership
responsibilities. Jd.
