[A2k] EU Copyright report this week +Hearing 23rd April

Dear All
 We met with US and EU officials this week as part of the TACD IP working
Group. DG Market officals told us that the second part of the Commissions
external expert review of the Copyright aquis ( Info Soc Directive)  ( by
Bernt Hugenholtz and others) will be published this week or next. This
part will, amongest other things ,cover a review of DRMs and exceptions
and limitations. While the report will not represent the Commissions
official view, DG Mrkt intends to hold a public hearing on it. The
tentative date for such a hearing ( subject to confirmation that senior
Commission officials can attend) is 23rd April.
