Sharing of Benefits Arising from Influenza Research

The e-mail list "Influenza Virus Sharing and Fair and Equitable
Sharing of Benefits Arising from Influenza Research" is for news and
discussion of international public health policy issues related to
sharing of potentially pandemic influenza viruses, particularly H5N1
avian influenza.

This list will feature news concerning World Health Organization
(WHO) negotiations to reform and/or replace the Global Influenza
Surveillance Network (GISN), intellectual property (patent) claims on
flu viruses, virus transfer agreements and traceability, statements
by governments, and other items of policy interest.

An effort will be made to post information on new human cases of
H5N1, however, tracking the latest in flu epidemiology is not the
primary purpose of this list.

This is an open list. Subscribers are encourage to post
(properly-attributed) news. Comments and discussion are allowed,
pointless bickering is not. List management is active to ensure a
civilized and on-topic forum.
