Platinum looks to saddle up readers via 'Cowboys'

Scott Rosenberg believes so strongly in "Cowboys and Aliens" that he
began giving away the Platinum Studios graphic novel Thursday. The
promotional initiative is part of the buildup to the movie and fits
into Rosenberg's philosophy for bringing his company's intellectual
property across as many platforms as possible from its very
inception. Taking advantage of Platinum's recent purchase of Drunk
Duck, the comic creator and fan community, several new pages will
appear online every week at CowboysAndAliens.net. The print version
will go on sale Dec. 6. "I believe that just like free songs on the
radio increase record sales, this will increase comic sales,"
Rosenberg said. "It will give the comic exposure to a much wider
audience, especially people who don't normally go into comic book
