CONFERENCE INVITATION
The Zimbabwe University Libraries Consortium (ZULC) is inviting you to
participate in the forthcoming conference entitled =93Open Access and
Creating a Knowledge Society=94
This conference will be held on the backdrop of the World Summit on the
Information Society (WSIS), and it intends to bring together information
and knowledge practitioners in Zimbabwe and the region, to deliberate on
issues of Open Access, Intellectual Property Rights and the Information
Society.
ZULC was formed to bring together university libraries to achieve common
objectives for the total benefit of members in the group. As such, in
its 5 year existence, it has been at the forefront of electronic
information dissemination, capacity building in e-information usage and
in creating enabling environments for accessing information
The 1st ZULC Annual Conference will bring together academics, civil
society, the public and private sector, and other interested people to
discuss important and topical themes and/or issues of Open Access,
Intellectual Property Rights and the Information Society. The
relationship between these issues and Information and Communication
Technology will be widely explored in the conference. The major outcome
of the conference will be establishing networks and determining ways of
interacting, strengthening partnerships and improving communication,
while creating a knowledge society.
ZULC intends to hold its future conferences at the following venues: -

By holding its annual conferences at the above-mentioned venues, ZULC
intends to always provide a conducive environment that will allow open
and intellectual debate on the chosen conference themes.

Registration Fee
Registration fee is US$300.00 per participant.
Please Note: Zimbabwean participants will pay the equivalent
Registration Fee of US$300 in the local currency.
