nevirapine
I did a quick check on patents that mentioned nevirapine, an HIV drug of
some interest, and found about 40 that mentioned nevirapine and
"government," which is a quick but not complete way to find patents
where the US government was a funder of the research. (the words HIV
and government yielded 1,186 hits).
More than half of the hits that mentioned nevirapine are government were
Abbott patents, done on NIAID contract AI27220. And there were also
patents held by the US government, Rockefeller University and other
persons and assignees. Here are a few examples.
