Cute, Greg, :-) but i think you misspelt 'also a few cases to which
it does'.

The image of the poor as indolent freeloaders laughing and lazying
away the day while better people work their bums off has the same
classist/racist basis as the minstrel-show image of Black people as
grinning, carefree 'darkies' who laugh and sing and eat watermelon
all day.   To put it as delicately as possible, Greg, it is a crock.

I would bet you US$1000 cash money that for every person you can
show me who could easily get a good job (one by means of which they
can support their family, if any) but chooses instead to rely on
public assistance as a way of life, i can show you someone
'respectable' who is milking the system, typically for _much_ more.
