Tunisia bans cigarettes smoking in public places

TUNIS, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Tunisia has banned smoking cigarettes in public
places and put curbs on cigarette advertising under a law that came into
force on Sunday. 

The ban involves almost every public space from state offices, hospitals
to means of public tansportation. 

No publicity is to be allowed in television or radio or during major
cultural or sporting events. 

Those breaking the law are liable to fines of between 25 dinars and 50
dinars.
