EMPLOYEES TO ASK FOR 700 MILLION YEN FOR POOR DIOXIN CONTROL POLICY
NOSE, Osaka – With regard to the dioxin pollution of the waste
incinerating facility in Nose, Osaka, seven employees of a subcontractor
of the facility are preparing a lawsuit against the Government of Japan
to get compensatory money of 700 million yen. They claim that their
suffering from dioxin has been attributable to delay of the
environmental administration by the national government. They plan to
take a case in court next week. It would be the first dioxin lawsuit of
the nation, in which the central government becomes a defendant for
damages.
