polybutyline (PB) pipes & Cl



regarding the settlement of the class action lawsuit(s) on defective PB
plumbing, apparantly you may be more likely to be eligible for a share of
the settlement if your water is heavily disinfected w/ chlorine, as it
apparantly affects some PB installations (most deterioration occurs at the
fittings, especially when tightly crimped, apparantly, tho splits are also
common.  Most PB pipes are grey tinted, and its copper compression
fittings.  'Acetal' inserts may also ID PB.  Contact the Consumer Plumbing
