PVC "lifecycle" in landfills; Never burned?

Allan Watson

Many older USA landfills were unregulated
and unlined.

Jacksonville FL has over 300 suspected
landfills that were "lowspots at the end of the
street" where trash was dumped and OFTEN
CAUGHT ON FIRE.

Even newer, lined & regulated landfills are
subject to smoldering fires.

1. Did the 'simulated landfill conditions in the
laboratory and taking samples from actual
landfills in Italy, Germany and Sweden' include
real world "smoldering fires?"

2. Who paid for this research?
3. Was there any influence from the
chlorine and PVC industry such
as industry funding at the same
University?

Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma is
increasing 3.3% in the USA, a
much higher number than Europe.

NHL is linked to dioxin and
to landfill location 'offgassing.'

Were European controls tighter
than USA controls on fire prevention
on landfills over the last 50 years
or so?

4. What is the real history of fires
in European landfills over the last
50 years?

5. Did the researchers match the
real history?

6. Note also that burned PVC can
also enter landfills from burned
homes, industrial fires and
burned cars......significance on health
with respect to actual exposures?
