Inherent in the use of solvent recycling technology is the production 
of hazardous wastes, like distillation bottoms, tank sludges and paint
sludges that must be incinerated in an industrial hazardous waste incinerator
or other combustion/destruction processes in order to avoid problems with 
later land disposal (or other process for residual fixation/stabilization, such 
as lime amendment to adjust pH to avoid soluability problems).

As such, solvent recycling doesn't eliminate the need to dispose of
hazardous wastes, 
which is almost always done by incineration.

In addition, some solvent recovery generates "light ends" which may not
be marketable and ends up as boiler or cement kiln fuel.
