Magnesium Smelting & Dioxin

Thanks to all who responded to my initial query, esp Jon, Jane, Alan and
Tony.

I have forwarded your useful information and comments on to my senior
colleague (who is assessing the environmental impacts of the magnesium
smelter proposal, and taking on board the information I am providing). I am
determined to provide the planning authority and Major Projects Panel with
information on how magnesium can be processed so that dioxin is not produced
(and hopefully no, or minimal, other nasty by-products). 

I have also forwarded comments concerning electrostatic precipitators to our
air quality advisor, and am waiting on a response. I guess the experts can
always learn things from those of us who aren't experts, but who ask
questions!
