syracuse incinerator

I'm new to the list. I've signed on because I'm using Dying for Dioxin in
my Science and Its Social Context class at the State University of New
York, College at Cortland.  Cortland is near Syracuse, New York and several
of my students are from there. Some live near the big incinerator on 481.
They have been asking me about that incinerator and I don't have any
specific information on it.

Does anyone know anything about the Syracuse incinerator and the struggle
to prevent it from being built. Do you know how much dioxin waste it spews
forth?  

>From what I can remember there was a group of activists in the Syracuse
area who were unsuccessful in blocking the building of this one.  I don't
know if there is still a movement against it. Does anyone have a contact
there?
