Seveso PR
Louise Oram forwarded this link to me.
My evaluation is that it is pure PR about Seveso, Italy, where the dioxin
accident happened at the subsidiary of Hoffman-LaRouche.
http://www.roche.com/roche/about/esevesa.htm
They acknowledge the Bertazzi study, one of the most far-reaching and
damning of the dioxin studies to date, and say they are hiring yet ANOTHER
researcher to manipulate, um, I mean, evaluate his work:
"An independent epidemiology committee headed by Professor Kenneth Rothman
in Boston (USA) has been set up and is acting as a consultant to Roche in
connection with the study. We firmly believe that this approach will enable
us to deal with any late sequelae objectively, professionally and at the
same time humanely. "
(To see Bertazzi's work directly, consult the book Dioxins and Health by
Arnold Schecter). To read about the real story behind the accident, read Tom
Whiteside's "The Pendulum and the Toxic Cloud"
Cheers
