Re: PCB's in incineration
My understanding of what is known about this is that aromatic carbon
emissions are recombined with chlorine while in the stack gases, and that
often a hot catalytic converter increases this recombination. Dioxins (2
oxygens between the benzene rings), furans (1 oxygen) and PCBs (no oxygen)
are formed.
