Another thought on landfill dioxin emissions

Some time ago I remember reading a paper by Professor Rappe of Umea
University where he was basically arguing in favour of incineration
rather than landfill. He claimed that landfill dioxin emissions were
higher because most landfills caught fire at some stage and thus produced
  large, uncontrolled emissions.

Not being a great fan of Rappe and generally disagreeing with a lot of
his work I can't remember the reference (it may have been a short review
in WARMER Bulletin) but this may jog somebody else's memory and turn up
the details. I also can't remember whether he gave any comparative
  emission data.

  Best wishes

  Alan
