POSITION OPENING: PROJECT COORDINATOR
CHILDREN'S ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH NETWORK
Nonprofit public health research organization seeks an
80%-100% time Project Coordinator for the Children's
Environmental Health Network, a national project dedicated
to promoting a healthy environment and protecting the fetus
and the child from environmental hazards. The Network is
recognized as a leader in the national and global arenas
around children's environmental health issues.
The Project Coordinator will lead a new project for the
Network, focused on children's environmental health issues
and constituencies in California. Specifically, the project will
enhance the ability of an opportunity for California's diverse
communities and organizations to build a stronger focus on
prevention and to protect California's children form exposure
to environmental hazards.
Responsibilities include: Conduct outreach to organizations,
associations, community groups, and government agencies
in California, develop an electronic network, convene
meetings of partners in the field, and facilitate the
development of collaborative projects and joint activities.
Requirements: BA/BS degree in public health or related
field; 3+ years experience in project coordination and/or
working on a variety of projects simultaneously; a strong
background as an organizer, with extensive contacts in
community-based organizations in California; must posses
excellent written and oral communication skills; be highly
organized and detail-oriented. Bi-lingual English/Spanish and
fluency with Macintosh preferred. Salary $2667.00/month (100%
FTE) to start with an excellent benefits package. Position is
