(Fwd) FDA Chickens Out

According to an article in today's state paper, "Tyson traces dixin
to Mississippi clay mine," the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, July 8,
1997, the FDA has taken steps to stop the feeding of
dioxin-contaminated feed to chickens and the use of the bentonite
clay that has been identified as the source of the dioxin in the
  chicken feed.

FDA has yet to take any action to stop anyone from selling
  dioxin-contaminated food to people.

"Animal feed manufacturers are voluntarily holding suppliees of
chicken and other animal feeds at the FDA's request ..."

  and

"The mining and shipping of clay from that mine has been halted
      at the FDA's request."
