Corporate Predators: The Hunt for MegaProfits and the Attack on Democracy

Dear Friends:

Our book, Corporate Predators: The Hunt for MegaProfits and the Attack on
Democracy, a collection of the first year-plus of Mokhiber-Weissman
columns, is now available for purchase.

You should be able to find the book in local stores.

You can also get information or buy the book from our web site,
<www.corporatepredators.org>, or you can order it from our publisher,
Common Courage Press at 1-800-497-3207.

We've received great reviews so far, including this comment from Noam
Chomsky:

"The incisive and sharply focused snapshots presented here give a telling
portrait of some of the most dangerous forces undermining what is decent
and hopeful in American and global society. A warning that should be taken
very seriously." (Other comments appear on our website.)

As you might imagine, we don't have a large promotional budget for this
book. In fact, we have no budget. So we're hoping to get help from our
friends and readers. Here's what we'd like to ask of you:

1. Please let your friends, family and colleagues know about the book.
Where appropriate, please send the book notice to relevant lists.

2. Help us identify local media that might review the book, interview us
or otherwise draw attention to the book. If you give us names and phone
numbers, and addresses if possible, we'll follow up.

3. Make sure local book stores carry the book, and suggest a Corporate
Predators book signing.

4. We are available to attend conferences, meetings, events and other
gatherings to talk about the abuse of corporate power (and to promote the
book). Let us know about upcoming events.

You can contact us at russell@essential.org, or rob@essential.org.

Thanks for any help you can offer. It would be easier for us, and a lot
less awkward, if we could rely on a publicist to do these things for us,
and save us the embarassment of this kind of request. But in the absence
of paid staff, we need your help.

Robert Weissman
